Ashland County’s Nutrition Program began in 1976. Today, the program provides nourishing meals, companionship, and connections to services that promote independent living. Hot nutritious meals are provided for people 60 or older and their spouses, regardless of age.
Meals are provided at five meal sites located in Ashland, Mellen, Glidden, Butternut, and Sanborn.
Each dining center reflects the flavor of the community in which it is located. In addition to getting delicious meals, each site provides opportunities to meet new people, renew old friendships, socialize, participate in fun activities, and keep up-to-date on programs and issues that relate to their communities and their peer groups.
Meals on Wheels are provided to individuals who are unable to attend the dining centers and who meet other eligibility requirements.
